Special Interest: Child to Child Abuse
Do children ever abuse other children? Unfortunately, yes. According to a US Department of Justice study in 2000, 23% of sexual offenders were under the age of 18 and 40% of victims under the age of 6 who were sexual abused, were abused by juveniles. Is there anything we can do to protect children and prevent child to child abuse? Let’s Plan to Protect®!
This webinar is designed for parents/caregivers, teachers, coaches, instructors, leaders and administration. We will address protecting children and youth, and preventing child to child abuse. Victoria Bissell, OCT. Director of Training at Plan to Protect®, will provide an overview of child to child abuse , age of consent, and age appropriate sexual behaviour/development. Victoria will also provide examples of warning signs, tips for safety, and how to respond if you know of or suspect that a child is being abuse by another child. Let’s raise the bar on protection!
