According to the World Health Organization, “depression is a common illness worldwide, with more than 300 million people affected… Although there are known, effective treatments for depression, fewer than half of those affected in the world (in many countries, fewer than 10%) receive such treatment” Are people with depression at higher risk of abuse or harm? This recorded webinar is designed to raise awareness of the vulnerabilities of individuals struggling with depression! This webinar is designed for all organizations who work with the vulnerable sector. Victoria Bissell, OCT. Director of Training at Plan to Protect®, will share how organizations can protect those with depression concerns. We will provide practical tips for supporting, counselling and mentoring individuals along with strategies for creating a safe environment. We will also briefly address suicide prevention and response. Let’s raise the bar on protection!
